Day School Curriculum
Rainbow College Day provides the possibility to take exams from 5 different leading examination bodies. 2 of these are British and 3 are Nigerian, with the Nigerian exams being compulsory. The British exams we offer are of course optional and available to you should you think this is beneficial for your child.
Junior Secondary School pupils have the option to take the British Checkpoint exams, but they must take the Nigerian JSCE NECO Exams. The Cambridge Secondary 1 Checkpoint exams are internationally recognised as a leading educational qualification program. The National Examinations Council (NECO) Junior Secondary Certification Exam (JSCE) is a renowned Nigerian examination system, taken by our 3rd year Junior Secondary School pupils.
At Senior Secondary School we teach our pupils the material needed for them to excel in 3 different exam systems: IGCSE, WASSCE and SSCE NECO. As with the Junior Secondary School exams, the IGCSE exams are optional and not mandatory. The IGCSE is a widely accepted and reputable Cambridge based examination body used across Britain and around the world. As the IGCSE qualification is British, it is recognised by leading international Universities and gives our teaching faculty access to high-quality learning resources. The West African Senior School Certificate (WASSCE) is widely used across Western Africa with proven success. The National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certifications Exam (SSCE) is a renowned Nigerian examination system. Both the WASSCE and NECO SSCE exams are highly important for our pupils, especially for those who will be based in Nigeria or Western Africa in the future. All of our Senior Secondary School pupils take their exams in their 3rd and final year at Rainbow College.
We also tutor students for university entry and qualifying examinations such as IELTS, SAT, TOEFL and JAMB.
